The Hidden Oasis for Gamers Off the Vegas Strip

Nestled just off of the Las Vegas Strip is an oasis for esports known as Press Start Gaming Center. If you drive by it would be easy to pass up this gem hidden in the back of a shopping center right next to the famous Pin Ball Hall of Fame, but that would be a mistake. For anyone looking to find a local gaming spot with decent prices, Press Start Gaming Center is an excellent choice. Not only is it an esports friendly environment, but the casual gamer would also benefit from the many circular tables with gaming consoles and limited PCs. They also have a wide variety of both retro and modern arcade games from TMNT Turtles in Time to ReRave.

Andy Reanrungroch is the owner, he was very approachable and helpful. When we bought an hour of play time he told us that he times us for an hour and five minutes then announces a last game before we have to get off. So you really get your bang for your buck. There is a venue for everyone at Press Start Gaming Center, with great prices.

How Much Do They Charge?

Speaking of pricing, how much do they charge? Monday thru Thursday you can purchase playing time at $5/hr or if you are a prestige member at $4/hr. Friday and Saturday are set at $6/hr or $5/hr for prestige. You can also BYOC/PC (Bring your own console or PC) for $10 all day or $8 for prestige. But if you really want the best deal, and you don’t have a PC or console to bring, all day passes are sold for $18.75 or $16.25 for prestige. These are some of the best prices in town!

Super Smash Bros. Tournament

SSBM Tournament

On the day that we went to Press Start Gaming, it was for a Super Smash Bros Melee tournament. They even streamed the main events live on a projection screen. Lack of seating in view of the tournament may be the only issue in a limited space establishment, but the screen was center enough for all to get a good view. In addition they also have lock ins where you can game all night long.

Upcoming Events

Some events coming up include Smash 4 Monday on February 13th, Wednesday Fight Night on the 15th, and these are a weekly thing. If you are looking for a schedule for these events look no further than here. This calendar will list Press Start events as well as many others all around the Las Vegas Metropolitan area. So if you are looking for a fun place to just relax and game, or are competitive in esports, Press Start Gaming Center is the place to be.
