Game Nest: Arcade in Vegas with Growing Smash 4 Community

Game Nest Great for Local Tournaments and Casual Gamers

If you are looking for a solid place to compete in local tournaments, or for a place to just hang out and play some games, then Game Nest in Las Vegas is the place for you. It is a bit difficult to find, but seeing as how there were about twenty or so young people hanging outside of the building, I’d say look for them and you’re in the right spot.

Smash It Up Hosts Diablo And Best Ness

We were there for Smash It Up, which is their weekly SSB4 tournament held on Fridays, and were impressed with how organized the place was. I spoke to Eric who runs the tournaments and he says they often get people from places like California and Utah to stop by. In fact, local professional JK, who was not competing, brought some friends from Utah: Diablo and Best Ness were in the building and they did not disappoint.

Game Nest Provides Simple but Efficient Set Up and Prices

The set up is simple but efficient. There is a console area with six stations. Each station has all three consoles (PS4, Xbox One, and Wii U) hooked up and ready to play, as well as couches at each. They also project the tournament brackets on a screen up front so anyone can see the progress, as well as announce which players are competing at which stations. Although many of the top local players frequent the tournaments, the community is very welcoming to newer players as well, so it’s a great place to learn the game and just hang out with other gamers.

The prices are modest as well. If you wanted to go an hour it would cost you $8, $14 for 2 hours, and $18 for all day. They even reward you an extra 30 minutes of play just for checking in on Facebook or Yelp. If you get hungry or need your Monster Energy Drink fix, snack are sold up front. They even sell video games, as well as other gaming accessories.

Free Play Arcade Included

In addition to gaming consoles, Game Nest provides a pay by the hour arcade, with all games set on “free play”. Yeah, you read that right, a FREE play arcade. The arcade includes great classics such as DDR2, Mario Kart 2, and four person Pac Man. The arcade also has games like Stage 6 Racing, Future Tom Tom, and Super Shot. It is one of the more impressive arcades in Vegas.

There is Something for Everyone at Game Nest

So if you are ever in China Town Las Vegas, keep your eyes out for a crowd of people hanging outside of a building on the corner of Spring Mountain and Arville. It’s probably Game Nest and there are probably people having a good time in there. It doesn’t matter if you’re not a serious gamer. For the free arcade alone this place is worth checking out. We even saw a guy that was at least sixty getting down on an old school Star Wars game. So as you can see, there is something for everyone at Game Nest.
